His Majesty the Nice Carnival King

The Carnival King gets the party started every year. He reigns over Nissa la Bella from his throne on Place Masséna throughout the Carnival
You can spot the King's float because it towers over the rest at 15m. It reached a record-breaking 17m high in 2014 for the King of Gastronomy.

The Flower Battle, the pride and joy of the Côte d’Azur:

The Flower Battles have been held on the Promenade des Anglais since 1876. Performers in costume flutter on floats and throw armfuls of flowers into the crowds. Most of the flowers are grown in the region so they capture the South of France and create a feast for the senses. The star of the show: mimosas

Closing events

Sunday February 26th marks the end of the Nice Carnival. Squeeze every last drop out of the event on Quai des États-Unis. As tradition dictates, the Carnival King is burnt and a fireworks display ends the annual festival.
